From Baseballs to Baubles

                Kennedy Mall is preparing to welcome two very different, but equally wonderful, new additions to its lineup of popular retailers.  The first is Gold Standard Athletics, a training center for players of all ages.  The 16,000 square foot facility will be located between Vertical Jump Park and Planet Fitness.  When it opens in March, Gold Standard Athletics will provide year-round training for baseball, softball and potentially other sports.  The staff is dedicated to offering a high level of private and small group instruction, as well as baseball camps, velocity programs in hitting and throwing, strength and conditioning and so much more.

Gold Standard Athletics is owned by former major-leaguer Eric Munson.  After playing catcher for the University of Southern California, Munson was the third overall pick in the 1999 Major League Baseball Draft.  Over his pro career, he played for the Detroit Tigers, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, Houston Astros and Oakland Athletics.  He then went on to coach for USC and the University of Dubuque, eventually creating his own training academy at the Dubuque Sports Complex.

In May, Riddle’s Jewelry will arrive at Kennedy Mall.  This will be the first location for this fine jeweler in the Dubuque area.  The new store will occupy just over 2,200 square feet of space on the mall’s Center Court.
